Watertown Lab Registration Process

The City of Watertown has revised their process for permitting new labs as of January 1, 2023. The new requirements align with the requirements in the Mass Fire Code and the approval process is similar to the process in the City of Boston. Not only will the requirements impact new lab construction, but existing labs will also have to demonstrate compliance by the time their flammable permits are renewed in September 2023, and each September thereafter.

Jigsaw Life Safety is one of the few third-party fire protection engineering firms approved in Watertown and can assist you in this process. We are also approved in Boston, where this program has been in place for over a year and our engineers have helped dozens of Clients by demonstrating compliance with the fire code and assisting in preparing for the fire department inspections required prior to lab permitting.

We would be happy to help you navigate the process.
