Andrew Shanahan, P.E. has been selected to participate as a subject matter expert and a member of NFPA’s new Certification Advisory Group (CAG) for fire and smoke damper inspection testing and maintenance. Fire and smoke dampers are ubiquitous in modern buildings, and while the requirements for regular inspection, testing, and maintenance have been in the codes for a long time, they have been largely ignored. This new certification will be a big step in the right direction in making sure buildings are properly maintained and Jigsaw Life Safety is excited to be a part of the process.
