What You’ll Do

As an intern at Jigsaw Life Safety, you may assist with:

  • Supporting fire protection and life safety engineering projects
  • Conducting building and code research related to applicable fire, building, and life safety codes
  • Assisting with engineering analyses and technical documentation
  • Preparing life safety plans, code summaries, and engineering drawings
  • Collaborating with engineers and project teams on active consulting projects
  • Participating in project meetings, site visits, and field observations
  • Assisting with inspections and evaluations of fire protection and life safety systems
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and project deliverables
  • Learning industry standards, engineering practices, and consulting workflows

What We’re Looking For

Qualified candidates should possess:

  • Enrollment in a Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related STEM program with an interest in pursuing a Fire Protection Engineering degree.
  • Strong interest in Fire Protection Engineering and Life Safety Consulting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Preferred qualifications include:
  • Prior internship, project, or leadership experience
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit
  • Interest in building codes, fire protection systems, and engineering consulting
